DARMASISWA, INDONESIAN SCHOLARSHIP FOR FOREIGNER STUDENTS

“DARMASISWA is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Bahasa, art and culture. Participants can choose one of selected universities located in different cities in Indonesia. This program is organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).”

PROCEDURES

Prospective students are required to register and submit all documents in Darmasiswa RI official website apply.darmasiswa.kemdikbud.go.id. For students who are not in the student's home country is not allowed to be registered through the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General in the participating countries (non-citizenship).

QUALIFICATIONS OF STUDENTS

1. Preferably Student
2. Completed secondary education or its equivalent
3. Minimum age 17 years and Not older than 35 years of age
4. Able to communicate in English and additional Bahasa Indonesia(Proven by English Language Proficiency Certificate : TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or OTHER CERTIFICATE if applicable)
5. In good health as proven by Medical Certificate
6. Passport size photo
7. Have basic knowledge of the field you're applying

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Curriculum vitae/resume
2. Medical sertificate
3. Passport valid at least 18 months from time of arrival in Indonesia (estimated arrival : 1st August 2017)
4. Recommendation Letter From Education Institution / Professional Institution on official letterhead and signature (in English)
5. Last academic transcript and certificates (in English)
6. Language certificate (if applicable)
7. Other certificates that related to the field you're applying (if applicable)
8. Writing essay about purpose of study (in english or bahasa Indonesia maximum 500 words)

I. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

Rights

1. Students monthly stipend will be divided into 2 groups of area: Area 1 Rp. 2.850.000,- (Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Denpasar, Makassar, Manado), Area 2 Rp. 2.450.000,- (Aceh, Padang, Palembang,Purwokerto, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Malang, Samarinda)
2. Students will be provided with accommodation and transportation during the Orientation Program if time arrival in time with the schedule from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
3. Students will get settlement allowance when attending the Orientation Program.
4. Students legal permit arrangement with the help of the Host University will be supported by Ministry of Education and Culture.
5. Students may seek assistance from Host University in finding a house/room to rent which is included in monthly stipend

Obligations

1. Students must sign a statement letter provided by the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General.
2. Students are requested to inform the Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Culture regarding date and time of arrivals to Indonesia for pick up arrangement.
3. Students must arrive in Indonesia a day before the Orientation Program.
4. Students will responsible for the accommodation arrangement and immigration expenses if time arrival is not in time with the schedule arranged by Ministry of Education and Culture.
5. Students must follow the study until the end of the program.
6. Students must write final report to the Host University and Ministry of Education and Culture after finishing the study in Indonesia.

II. ACADEMIC REGULATIONS

A. Classroom Rules

1. Students must dress courteously and with decency during their study in classroom and on campus (sleeveless tops, shorts and sandals are prohibited)
2. Cell phones are to be turned off during study in the classroom.
3. The allowable maximum lateness is 15 minutes.

• B. Classroom Attendance

1. The minimum class attendance is 75% of the total class sessions per month. Any students who fail to meet the attendance requirement in a certain month are not entitled to the monthly allowance for the subsequent month.
2. Only students with a minimum class attendance of 75% of the total class sessions for a semester are eligible to sit for the Final/Achievement test.
3. Permission for nor attending a class session are given to the DRI participants only for the following conditions:

• illness (a doctor’s written statement must be presented)
• Parents/Family visit (allowable maximum class absence is 1 week)
• Immigration matters
• On duties assigned by the Host University
• Other acceptable excuses.

C. Academic Activities

1. Altering the selected field of study or host university is not permitted
2. Participants can extend their study period in Darmasiswa Scholarship program, if only they can get a recommendation from the host University and their home country embassy in Indonesia.
3. participants overdue arrival to the University at least 1 week after program started at the University.
4. Travelling out of Indonesia during academic period of study is not permitted, except for emergency, such as: unexpected death or severe illness of parents and completion of study/graduation ceremony in the origin country
5. Travelling out of Indonesia is only permitted for 1 (one) time during the academic holidays (allowable maximum leave is 2 weeks)
6. DRI participants must submit a written final report to the Host University and Ministry of Education and Culture upon their completion of study in Indonesia.

D. Issuance of Certificates of Statements

Only participants who meet the academic requirements and sit for the achievement test of their study are awarded a certificate of study or a statement of study completion by the Host University.

E. Sanctions

DRI participants are subject to imposition of sanctions under the following conditions:

1. Any participants who fail to meet the minimum attendance requirement of 75% of the total class sessions in the previous month are not entitled to the monthly allovance for the subsequent month
2. Any participants who fail to meet the minimum attendance requirement of 75% of the total class sessions in 1 semester are not eligible to sit for an achievement test and/or receive a certificate.
3. Any participants who commit a violation against the other academic regulations (exclusive of classroom attendance) for the first time will be given a spoken reprimand by the authority of the Host University. Upon the second violation, the participants will be given a Letter of Reprimand 1 (SP1). Upon the third violation, the participants will be given a Letter of Reprimand 2 (SP2). Upon issuance of Letter of Reprimand 2 (SP2), the scholarship is terminated and the participants are not eligible to sit for the achievement test of the study and deportation.
4. Host Universities with the approval from BPKLN may revoke the sponsorship letter and residential/stay permit for any participants upon any violation of regulations or upon the completion of term of study. The participants whose sponsorship letter and residential permit are revoked must return to their origin country at their own expense.

III. NON- ACADEMIC REGULATIONS

A. Legal

1. Must comply with the prevailing laws and regulations of the Republic of Indonesia
2. Must comply with the the existing regulations of the Host University
3. Must not work/earn a living while studying in Indonesia.
4. Must not engage in political and criminal activities
5. Must not get involved with drug trafficking ( either as a drug abuser or trafficker)

B. Social

1. Must not bring along any family members even if it is at their own expense during the study
2. Must not perform immoral acts
3. Must not in a state of pregnancy
4. Must be able to adapt and interact with the surrounding people and culture
5. Must not perform any activities related to certain indoctrination

C. Sanctions

1. Any participants who commit a violation against the prevailing laws and regulation of the Republic of Indonesia are subject to imposition of sanctions in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations of the Republic of Indonesia.
2. Any participants who commit a violation against the existing regulations of the Host University are subject to imposition of sanctions in accordance with the prevailing regulations of the Host University and/or Letter of Reprimand issued by the authority. Host University with the approval from BPKLN may repatriate any participants for their commission of a violation.
3. Any participants who commit a violation against any social norms and values will be given a Letter of Reprimand. The second violation results in the student being deported

IV. ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL REGULATIONS

Administrative and Financial Regulations

1. The scholarship granted to the participants conforms with the 12 month of study program.
2. Any participants who intend to terminate their term of study before the program in the university ends are only entitled to the allowance for the month they are to leave for their origin country.
3. DRI participants receive their monthly allowance in the first week of each month providing that the participants meet the minimum attandance requirement of 75 % of the total class sessions in the previous month.
4. DRI participants will receive their monthly allowance providing that they remain in Indonesia during their academic period of study and academic holidays.
5. DRI participants must submit their original passport and other immigration documents upon their arrival in Indonesia to the Host University for safekeeping. The participants will be provided with a copy of the documents and a statement of document safekeeping by the Host University.

Hubungan Diplomatik Antara Indonesia Dan Peru

Indonesia dan Peru mempunyai kesamaan bentuk pemerintahan yaitu Republik. Hubungan diplomatik antara kedua negara republik ini didirikan pada tanggal 12 Agustus 1975. Awalnya, perwakilan Indonesia di Perú dirangkap oleh Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Brazil. Karena terlihat kurang efektif dari faktor jarak dan kuatnya keinginan pemerintah Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kerjasama dengan Perú, maka pemerintah Indonesia membuka Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Lima pada tanggal 20 Februari 2002. Sebelumnya, pemerintah Peru sudah membuka terlebih dulu Kedutaan Besar Peru di Jakarta sejak 1 November 1992.

Hubungan baik antara kedua negara juga terlihat dari kerjasama yang dilakukan dalam berbagai forum seperti Kelompok 77, Kelompok 15, dan APEC. Demikian juga intensitas kunjungan antara kedua negara dan kontak langsung antara pejabat kedua negara dengan membuat pondasi yang lebih kokoh bagi hubungan kedua negara tersebut.

PERDAGANGAN

Kalian pasti tahu merek minuman bersoda "Big Cola"? Perusahaan ini bernama AJE Group yang dimiliki oleh keluarga Añaños yang berasal dari Kota Ayacucho, Peru. AJE Group menjadi investor terbesar dari Peru yang ada di Indonesia dan menjadi inspirasi bagi perusahan-perusahaan Peru lain yang ingin berinvestasi di Indonesia. Menurut data dari Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia (BPS), perdagangan antara Peru dan Indonesia mencapai US $ 213.370.000 pada tahun 2011. Perdagangan yang paling utama ada pada ekspor karet, produk kayu, sepatu olahraga, kertas, pakaian, suku cadang sepeda motor, aluminium, kaca, keramik, plastik dan elektronik ke Peru. Indonesia sendiri mengimpor dari Peru berupa tepung ikan, pakan ternak, obat-obatan, anggur, gandum dan pupuk dari Peru. Pada bulan Oktober tahun 2013, Indonesia dan Peru menandatangani nota kesepahaman (MoU) tentang kerja sama pertanian.

BUDAYA

Indonesia dan Peru mempunyai berbagai macam budaya (multi cultural). Salah satu budaya yang terkenal di Indonesia adalah tentang Kerajaan Majapahit. Kalau di Peru, terkenal dengan Budaya Inca. 

Setiap pulau-pulau di Indonesia mempunyai bahasa dan budaya yang berbeda dan mempunyai karakteristik tersendiri. Semuanya unik dan menarik. Sekitar 90% Warga Negara Indonesia menggunakan bahasa nasional, Bahasa Indonesia. Tapi, dalam keseharian mereka menggunakan bahasa dari daerah masing-masing. Di Indonesia tercatat 707 bahasa yang dituturkan sekitar 221 juta penduduk Indonesia. Artinya bahwa kurang lebih sepuluh persen dari jumlah bahasa di dunia ada di Indonesia. Daftar bahasa yang ada di Indonesia bisa kalian baca di sini. Budaya di Indonesia juga sangat banyak. Terdapat lebih dari 300 kelompok etnik atau suku bangsa di Indonesia. Tepatnya 1.340 suku bangsa menurut sensus BPS tahun 2010 (baca di wikipedia).  

Sama seperti Indonesia, Peru juga merupakan negara multi cultural. Untuk Negara Peru sendiri terdapat bahasa daerah yang terkenal yaitu Quechua, Aymara, Shipipeo, Ashaninka dan lainnya. Ada lebih dari 500 bahasa yang masih dipakai oleh beberapa suku-suku kecil di Peru dan paling banyak terdapat di Amazon. 

Beberapa bahasa yang sudah punah di Peru seperti yang ada di pantai utara wilayah Reino Chimú, mereka menggunakan bahasa Sec (di Tumbes dan Piura), bahasa Pescadora (di Pacasmayo dan Guadeloupe), Muchic atau Yunga (Motupe ke Chicama), Quingnan (Valles de Moche, Virú y Chao). Culle atau bahasa Culli, diucapkan di Cajamarca, Cajabamba dan Huamachuco, bahasa Puquina di Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna dan Puno. Bahasa Aru digunakan di bagian utara dari Lima, di dataran tinggi tengah dan selatan. Dan masih banyak lagi budaya Peru juga sangat beragam dan menarik untuk ditelusuri. 

BEASISWA UNTUK MAHASISWA ASING

Indonesia mempunyai program beasiswa unggulan bagi mahasiswa asing yang ingin belajar bahasa dan budaya Indonesia seperti Darmasiswa dan KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang). 

• Darmasiswa

Beasiswa Darmasiswa khusus untuk mempelajari bahasa dan budaya Indonesia saja. Beasiswa ini ditempuh selama satu tahun. Kalian bisa belajar menari, fotografi, membatik, Bahasa Indonesia dan masih banyak lagi. Pada beasiswa Darmasiswa ini, kalian bebas memilih universitas yang kalian suka sebagai tempat belajar kalian. Semua Universitas Negeri di Indonesia mempunyai program ini. Program beasiswa Darmasiswa diprakarsai oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia. Dulu, suami saya juga mendapatkan beasiswa Darmasiswa tahun 2015-2016. Dia mengambil jurusan Bahasa Indonesia di Universitas Gajah Mada Yogyakarta. Menurut saya, beasiswa ini sangat direkomendasikan untuk mahasiswa asing yang ingin belajar bahasa dan budaya Indonesia. Kalian bisa saling tukar bahasa dan budaya dengan negara lain, bahkan dengan Negara Indonesia sendiri sekaligus mengeksplorasi keindahan Indonesia. Informasi mengenai syarat pendaftaran dan hal lain tentang Darmasiswa bisa kalian klik di sini atau di sini. Tips untuk mahasiswa yang berasal dari Peru, yang ingin mendapatkan beasiswa Darmasiswa, saya rekomendasikan mengikuti kursus Bahasa Indonesia terlebih dahulu. Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Lima membuka kursus Bahasa Indonesia (BIPA) yang diadakan setiap hari Senin dan Rabu jam 17.00-18.30 waktu Lima. Dengan mengikuti kursus ini, kalian jadi punya persiapan dan tahu beberapa hal tentang Indonesia. Kursus ini GRATIS.

• KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang)

Sesuai namanya, beasiswa KNB ini dikhususkan untuk negara-negara berkembang (developing country) saja. Program ini juga diprakarsai oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia. Program yang dimulai pada tahun 1993 ini dibuat dengan tujuan meningkatkan hubungan kemitraan antara negara-negara berkembang. KNB ditujukan untuk mahasiswa asing yang ingin melanjutkan ke jenjang S2 di universitas-universitas di Indonesia. Program ini berlangsung tiga tahun dan terdiri dari dua sesi. Sesi pertama adalah Indonesian Course, dan sesi kedua adalah Program Magister.

Persyaratan yang harus dipenuhi diantaranya:

• Usia Max. 35 tahun
• Fotokopi Ijazah dan transkrip nilai yang diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Inggris
• Fotokopi sertifikat TOEFL (min. 450)
• Surat Keterangan Kesehatan
• Mengisi formulir aplikasi
